SATANS BATTLEFIELD

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

1 Peter 1:13  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

IMPACT POINT! The Battle Is For Control Of The Mind

Satan wants to control the believers thinking, emotions, feelings and choices. He cannot possess a believer’s spirit but he can oppress the believer’s life by way of the thinking.

IMPACT POINT! We Are Body, Soul And Spirit

The condition of the soul (mind) determines the quality of life. If Satan can influence your mind he can then rob you of all of the benefits of your redemption.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

IMPACT POINT! He Robs Us Through Our Thinking

Your current attitude and over all life is the result of either submitting to the mind of Christ or allowing Satan to play with your thoughts. The bible describes two kinds of thinking.

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Satan develops a stronghold in our minds through carnality. When we look at life through carnal frames we are under heavy satanic influence.

 

Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

In biblical times the enemy would shoot fiery darts over the walls of a city to burn them out from the inside.

IMPACT POINT! The Purpose Of Satan Hurling Thoughts Is Because He Does Not Have Legal Access And He Uses You To Self Destruct

2 Thessalonians 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

 TAKING AUTHORITY OVER YOUR IMAGINATION

IMPACT POINT! When We Change The Image In Our Heads We Will Elevate The Conditions Of Our Lives

1 Chronicles 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off forever.

IMPACT POINT! God And Satan Are Waiting For Our Thinking To Agree With Their Will

When our inner image agrees with God He performs His will in our lives. When our imagination agrees with Satan he is empowered to perform in our lives.

IMPACT POINT! Your Imagination Is Always A Preview Of Your Future. If You Continually See It You Will Have It

HOW DO WE IMPROVE OUR IMAGINATION?

A. Feed The Word Of God Into Our Minds

Hebrews 4:12-13

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

IMPACT POINT! As We Discipline Ourselves To Hear The Word It Cuts Through All Of The Strongholds And Lies That Satan Has Planted

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

B. Develop The Discipline To Meditate On The Word Continually

Meditation Defined: To think on continually and to repeat your thoughts

Psalms 1:1-2

1   Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

IMPACT POINT! As We Meditate The Word Of God We Continue To Destroy Strongholds And Our Thinking Is Reshaped

C. Develop The Discipline To Verbally Correct Every Negative Thought Immediately

We pull down negative imaginations with words.

IMPACT POINT! The Thinking Is Reinforced Or Altered By The Words We Speak. WORDS ARE SPIRITUAL CONTAINERS

Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

IMPACT POINT! When Our Thoughts Don't Match What God's Word Says About Us We Must Speak Against Those Thoughts. Life Flows Through Our Words

Matthew 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

D. Discover And Focus On Your Vision For The Future

The negative thoughts that are generated by the enemy are to keep you stuck in a negative mindset and the past.

IMPACT POINT! We May Break The Stronghold Of Wicked Imaginations By Casting Our Focus On A Brighter Future

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
